Diamond sapphire tanzanite collar. Made in platinum, turning old jewellery into new. The customer had a selection of beautiful gemstones, including this pear cut tanzanite and oval sapphire, which we remodelled into this diamond, sapphire and tanzanite collar. Placed onto a short 15 inch chain, the piece sits snugly at the top of the throat to be visible, even with a high neckline.
The diamonds were set in a continuous rub-over, to offer a fluid line of sparkle. Set at the top with a yellow diamond, the sapphire and tanzanite were then claw set. The pear cut tanzanite was suspended on a diamond set bail, to allow it to move and catch the light.
This tanzanite was taken from a ring, which was broken, but luckily the tanzanite was undamaged. It was a large pear cut of over 5 carats and a superb indigo-blue colour, with an iridescence not often seen with bigger gems.
