Mighty oaks from little acorns grow
As a mum of grown up children, I marvel at how quickly they seem to have reached adulthood
Tiny babies who have transformed into extraordinary grown-ups
I decided to make something that I could wear to celebrate the wonder of that transformation: A really heavy little gold acorn pendant . I’m wearing it on a short chain and I’m enjoying its tactile quality.
For anyone who is proud of the adults that their acorns have become; we’re going to make a limited run of them to order, in a choice of yellow, rose or white gold on corresponding chains.
We make these solid acorn pendant sculptures to order. They are heavy, because they are NOT hollowed-out. They generally measure about 15mm in height, but we can make them to any size. Each one is carved from wax and then we make a mould and cast them in gold. Every acorn pendant is unique.
They look great worn in a little cluster of slightly varying shapes. One customer, wears two, to represent her children
