This was a remodel project, turning old jewellery into new.
The diamond stud earrings were made in combination with an outer surrounding ear jacket, which was detachable. This makes a very versatile pair of earrings, as the central diamond studs can be worn alone. Or they can also be worn, with the outer diamond jacket surrounding them. Alternatively, the diamond ear jackets can be worn with other stud earrings.
The diamond ear jackets are made with a hole for an earring stem to fit through. Once fitted, they decorate and embellish any chosen central stud earring.
This idea is proving very popular as a surprise gift suggestion: There is no sizing issue and the recipient gets, in effect, two pairs of earrings in one gift!
The diamonds in this set were all sizeable gems. The centre studs were over 1 carat each, with another 2 carats of diamonds in the claw-set jacket surrounds.
These were a bespoke commission, turning old jewellery into new.
